Happy New Year!
Welcome, and welcome some more! :) I hope you had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and that our new year found you in optimistic spirits. This year, 2018 is slated to be a more casual and much lighter year (in my world, at least) after surviving some real and serious, and on-the-go almost always, heavy duties of 2017 haha. Did that make you out of breath? I felt that way just re-reading the group of words as soon as I typed them. It doesn't mean it's all laa-dee-daa, but that now I get to take a little breather, travel more along the whimsical happy-principle lines, love more deeply, laugh even more (imagine that!), and share little snippets of sparkle and creativity with others. Creators always create, makers are going to make, and sharers are programmed to spontaneously share and shape. I'm calling 2018, my year of little intentions. Three intentions for this month (and I invite you to incorporate this quiet monthly exercise into your own inner space for enhanced vibes) are...

Three Intentions for January 2018 : 1. Gratitude | 2. Focus | 3. Letting Go
I am grateful for... my resilience which actually comes from having a strong family, group of friends and business team. Many of us with closely-knitted family ties will always second this truth-- we can never overstate this simple fact. And I never kid myself that who I've become and continue to be, what I stand up for and shy away from is largely due to being raised well which makes me surround myself with warm, wholesome, and kindhearted folks who will wisely lead and guide me along an internally best-dressed path. I don't do or go it alone. I have help, and lots of it, and I'm grateful for my people each and every day.
Focusing on... upping my freshly chopped lettuce intake. The latter half of last year, life got so unbelievably busy with self and other worldly challenges, that I would often slice half of an avocado as my evening vegetable (it's really a fruit but works like a veg with me), peeling and eating it right there at the kitchen sink (what a sight too), to ensure I was including some daily dietary fiber as I was just too tired to rinse and chop even loose lettuce leaves. And then we had this huge romaine (my favourite) lettuce recall for weeks-- which is still lurking some. To welcome our new year, I made a light, intimate supper which included a freshly chopped and washed iceberg ball lettuce from the market, with a light homemade side-dressing. Each bite tasted even more momentous than the last just from the satisfaction (and lack of guilt) of making this simple desire, happen.
Letting go of... busy, ongoing turnaround travels, and emotionally anchoring myself to home base, not just close to, but right there for at least this month anyways. It's always good to be able to navigate our own ship and/ or travelling vessel. There is a freedom that reign-eth like no other to just pack and head here or there, at our own whim and fancy, and time frame, and being able to determine our awake and sleep hours with our own mental on and off switch. Enjoying some grounded at-home, buckled-in time, and not wildly busy moments is very welcomed this month for starters.
What are you grateful for, focused on, and letting go of as we kick off our new year? I'd love to hear in the comments section below... And as always, thanks for reading.
