It almost sounds like a wildcard kind of question, and for some, it could be. But, hopefully, we'll be into all things virtuous, in favour of lifting the human spirit in some way. It's all about being heartful, and layering ourselves and each other with some lovely on the love-ly' this month. I have to say, I'm already beginning to enjoy these little monthly time-outs. It feels so elevating, and right now as I'm typing away with this post, I caught my feet playfully swinging under the desk, with a cup of hot steaming make-my-day coffee to my left, half of a sliced ripe banana, and two eggs not too far away on their last couple of minutes to being perfectly boiled-- lots to do today. I'm finding that two boiled eggs at breakfast...
are more filling than scrambling them (even solo, sans cream)-- something to perhaps do the research on this month? I'm wondering if it's the less is more principle with boiling eggs as is (whole), whereas with scrambling them, there's a teaspoon of butter melted in a hot skillet prior to adding the eggs and we're breaking down their more powerful protein fuel with all that up, close and personal heat, out of shell. Life is such a journey with something new to discover each and every day if we choose to be curious with its mystery, and excited for it. And of course there's a new enchanting track in the background soothingly paving the beginnings of a new morning-- life's finest. It already feels like a joyful day ahead with these intentions already on their way-- but first, here's the track I'm currently enjoying...
'Loving the ♫ whimsical interplay of the triangle within the higher octave piano keys and full-bodied orchestra... can you hear it?
The music... My girlfriend Amy teases me about my southern birds almost weekly these days stating emphatically that the birds are enthralled with my towering outdoor tree that literally turns into a proverbial lush forest in and of itself during our spring into summer months (the vibrant green leaves are out of this world)-- and being able to flutter around to the music they hear indoors all-year-round. "Why head elsewhere when you've got a good thing going regardless of the season?" she says. Thank you Tracey Chattaway (!) for your light and uplifting compilations, and timeless dedication to your passion and craft that have captivated even my birds during the harshest throws of winter, blizzards and all.
Making a quick n' easy winter-style chicken soup. For a couple of years now, I've been wanting to make a full of substance, but no-sweat-this chicken soup during winter but just never got around to it with one thing or another being in fuller swing. But not this year. I have already created the recipe from a combination of Saturday soups I've made back home in the tropics, have my lista for the market, which includes a special spice mix that really takes things to the next level of lovely. During a recent compliance team meet, we were talking about some warmer winter eats (we older folks all love great homemade everything) and when Simon heard me say this spice mix, he immediately grabbed his pants (tmi, I know-- but it really happened) haha........ Not what many may think it is, but it's really great stuff! haha
Too much worry about the unknown. Every week, there is something new and undesirable loudly floating throughout the world. And it seems all over, manifesting its evil in subtle ways through little crooks and crannies here and there. I started worrying so much about it all, and the serious mental harm and distrust it creates within a society, especially for our next up and coming generation with so much to offer the world as is, in its current lack of morals state. And then I got annoyed, very annoyed. I refuse to even say our world these days as that is not part of my world with living well with each other and nature. Many All of these perpetrators of course have no remorse; they are just embarrassed with being caught and publicly called out with such disgustingly low standards of conduct, dishonour and behavior towards another. One very good thing that has come out of weekly health, safety and security briefings is our strong alignment, connection, and communication with local and international government bodies who will absolutely not tolerate any type of dishonourable behavior between its people of many cultures, sharing one common land.
A beyond bountiful makeup store(!) Another on-my-list-to-do adventure since early last year and then those days came where I just wanted to crash and cuddle indoors behind the scenes and enjoy a quiet later lunch or early dinner and at-home movie instead of taking off for an overnight-er day or two. With not being a fashionista or having a blog that caters to such, it was always an easy no-brainer to do something from home/ office base in lieu of... The invitation and day away is set and on schedule, and I'm excited for the experience to product test a few simple (and basic) everyday fresh-lift items in mind.
Thank you cards and other paper goods. My colourful macaron cards, similar here, have had more than their fair share of celebratory moments, and each and every time I send a thank you with their subtle sparkling goodness, the receiver always calls to express how much they love the card and the brightness it brought to their day. We can't say thank you too much to those who have been kind to us these days. With less than 3 cards remaining from a few previous boxes, the time has arrived to select something new for 2018, as well as other forward moving paper goods now in their design and layout process.
Here's to a beautiful and happy February. x
