Our strawberries are ready, and I mean seriously, really ready. They have outdone themselves this year and we are diving in like our delightful dolphins. I'm ready, you're ready-- heck, I think the entire universe is ready right now to take off into the 'happies of these 78 (who's counting) days of summer. What will you be up to? Hopefully, a few things fun, and lots of things relaxing with maximum enjoyment and more daylight hours blessing us all. And definitely rotating adventures of the natural salty water kind, frozen treats, and a new place or two. Keeping it light, easy and breezy with extra stretch-room, here's where I'm at...
Participating in a mind, body, and spiritual wellness women's workshop... My ongoing love of lectures for the mind, our bodies, gentle exercise and good nutrition, always has me psyched to attend, actively participate and connect in these healing and balancing seminars every year. Truth be told, they are like fuel for the next year of life ahead. Hence too, my love of non-fiction inspirational books any day of the week over fiction.
Family ventures and outings... We are going picnicking, boating, fishing, and then some along the loved familiar, and discovering somewhere new. I love these little trips a lot as the laughter triples with the little stresses of work and life's sometimes daily/ weekly grind tucked away, and everyone mellowing into the mood of letting-go and having a carefree blast of a time.
where it all started; two years ago...
Creating a new summer ice cream flavour to celebrate the season... In addition to our strawberries, many of our summer fruits are already bursting with sweet and gloriously juicy realities. I have a few ideas in tow and can't wait to capture some of nature's magic with a new ice cream recipe. Still pinching myself with this unexpected, turned passion, now budding at-home career that so many can enjoy.
Making 'another' attempt with my fly-away swim hair... It's been on my to-do list every. season. it. feels. like. for the last three years with many failures to launch. haha So much for a life of quick french buns and knots with dance, and under a swim cap. Somethings gotta give this summer as I'm really loving the soft, naturally wavy and chemical-free texture these days, grays and all with a flurry of great hair product samples from my sister, Gi. Nothing fancy in mind, just nicely trimming the ends and enjoying more down time when out and about too. Maybe she'll do that too so I can finally update my decades old profile photo... :)
More walking and pedalling on alternate days... Walking is my go-to staying active constant, before even driving or hopping on our trolley to get around town. If I can walk to it, within reason, given the day's agenda and it's not too steamy out, I'll walk. Losing the layers after a long(er) winter feels wild and wonderful. I'm looking forward to donning my mid-calf cotton-poly capri and tee and enjoying lighter and longer outdoor walking days.
And sometimes it feels like I go after these same intentions or close variations of, every summer. ~sigh.
