We love! our virtual watch parties connecting with family and close friends near and far while streaming movie selections on our television screens. No FOMO here with staying safe and enjoying each other every week. With earlier decades of heavy travel, we're truly appreciating our slower (yet very engaging) indoor time. Three recent favourites... What a blast! 🎉
The Watcher - Inspired by the true story of the infamous 'Watcher' house in New Jersey, a family's ultimate suburban dream home becomes a living nightmare with sinister neighbourhood secrets and a series of decades long harrowing events. So many personalities within this compact drama series, it's easy to suspect everyone! Just when you've nailed it with an 'x', there's a 'y' curveball around the very next corner. Great cast!; Theodora Birch (played by Noma Dumezweni) had us in stitches. Rated TV-MA (Mature Adults Only, Excessive Language).
Another great cast! An alluring, bold and audacious psychological thriller: Don't Worry Darling tells the story of a 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community who begins to worry that his glamorous company may be hiding disturbing secrets. Fabulous cinematography, and definitely lots to keep on talking about, for many... hahaha. We loved it! Bang Bang. :)
Brain On Fire - Stricken with seizures, psychosis and memory loss, a young New York Post reporter visits doctor after doctor in search of an elusive diagnosis. Another true story on film, and a captivating and very moving watch. The credits at the end made me sit for an extra few to take it all in. Highly recommend!, especially in our current times where mature, diligent, and effective leadership with doing the right thing to garner trust and create that needed sense of safety and belief in follow-through is so desperately lacking in a world that has lost its way— in so many places. Leadership is a whole lot more than a 'fancy' title.
