Chef Dynasty: House of Fang - We love! our Chinese takeouts with my all-time favourite: Sichuan Sweet & Sour Pork! always included in our order with simple white rice and toasty fries. I even upgraded my older recipe to an extra lean grain-free version during our first pandemic lockdown year for more at-home comforts. It had to be done. Here, Father-Daughter duo, Chefs Peter and Kathy Fang try to 'work together' to add a blended, cultural spin to Classic Chinese Cuisine. Such an inspiring true story reveal of Chef Peter Fang, who came to the U.S. with 'less than' $40., decades ago, and overtime created a beyond delicious, successful and in-demand menu. "Ohhhh no no no no no...; ohhh c'mon, this is a Chinese restaurant." Makes me laugh every time. Episode 6 especially resonated revealing Chef Peter's stance on loyalty to honest, hardworking, long-standing staff. Well done!
Be My Guest with Ina Garten - From the comforts of home, warm, loving and full of fun, Ina interviews folks she's always wanted to meet, to cook and chat about their growing up years, careers and life itself. We all enjoy her recipes and incorporate many into our daily and weekly comfort meal planning. I enjoyed her quiet sit-down with Norah Jones so much that the following week I made a grain-free version of her 'Kentucky Derby' one-bowl easy Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie for dessert (homemade vanilla ice cream included). What a delicious treat! Good company, good food, good music. What life and living well is all about.
Tournament of Champions - Season IV - It's much about mastering the Randomizer! often called 'the devil', and for very good reason with a surprize substitution this season, —with Host Guy Fieri. The most talented chefs, east and west, compete against each other in the most intense, maximum pressure cooking challenge series yet. I even caught myself saying, "Get it on the plate!" Many of these techniques are new to my already very selective cooking --no biggie for these outstanding professionally trained chefs! Culinary commentators: Chef Justin Warner and Sir Simon Majumdar returned for another season, taking their roles very seriously. Loved seeing them both. Such a fabulously executed show with a great team family of chefs.
// Hearty congrats! to this season's winner. No spoilers here. Mighty! well. done. indeed! and very well-deserved! Wow!! :)
