Our 'official' strawberry month is upon us (hello June!~) and so is our fast-approaching Dads' Day. A delicious and jazzy late spring through summer frozen smoothie with a kick of fresh organic ginger. Our lemons will 'sleep in' for this round. :) Recipe after the jump...

Strawberry Ginger Smoothie
(Serves 2)
I used this (2-cup) serving glass to measure the strawberries and milk.
2 cups fresh (or frozen) strawberries (if fresh, rinse well, trim stems, and slice)
3/4 cup milk (whole, 2%, or skimmed)
1/2 semi-ripe banana (sliced into half-inch rounds and frozen)
2 teaspoons (peeled and finely grated) organic fresh ginger
2 tablespoons ginger jam
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (or honey)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
pinch of fine sea salt
Chill the freshly sliced strawberries in the freezer for 1 hour.
Add all the ingredients to a high-powered blender and blend until smooth, or to your preferred texture. If too thick, just add a little more milk.
Enjoy immediately.
