I/We hope!? Truly. It's too dark at 5 p.m. and for the life of me I don't recall it being so so dark last year, or even the year before... On the flip side, it's comforting to know I'm in huge company with looking forward to longer stretches of quiet, luxurious sofa time to look out and enjoy our now falling autumn leaves, Jack's (my squirrel) kids, grands, and most likely extended family running up and down the backyard tree, and allowing my mind to wander as it chooses. We're all tired. We're ready for rest. And if you commute, triple more so...
Put on the movies, plan easy wholesome meals (yummy order-in-pizza/takeout included), and pedal your feet upwards. It's time to slow down, reflect on the year, and enjoy the magic of the season...
A midweek go-to with keeping lunch simple, easy and nutritious (and when weekend leftovers have run out): chopped leafy green lettuce varieties topped with a homemade vinaigrette drizzle and solid white (low sodium) tuna salad. // Drain the water from the can of tuna (170 g), flake the tuna with a fork and add 2 tablespoons mayo, 1 - 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar, 1/3 cup chopped scallions and a light sprinkle of ground red cayenne pepper. Yum!
Last weekend we watched this oldie and goodie and it was just as engaging watching a second time, decades later. "A woman framed for her husband's murder suspects he is still alive; as she has already been tried for the crime, she can't be re-prosecuted if she finds and kills him." Makes sense. We're ready for Home Alone and The Birdcage to take us into our slower days ahead.
He does it best. Always. :) #Jack
