... without too much gore, hopefully. We are freeway forward with Halloween now heavy on our heels. Our early watch from last month, The Midwich Cuckoos lived up to all our horrific expectations. "A small village in England is completely subdued by an alien presence for an entire day. Upon waking, it is discovered that numerous women in the town are expecting." ...Even the wild horses were galloping away for their lives! The kids played and held their roles superiorly well - Hannah!; the adults too - Zoë! and we had so many laugh out loud moments with Curtis' 'expressiveness'. He was not having it, not one bit! haha The fast-paced 7-episode series was meant to be just that, 1 Season, 7 Episodes, but we're now desiring (fingers and toes crossed), a Season 2. With many doors left open to explore further, the 'Cuckoos' may be coming to a town near You. What a wild (and gripping) watch! Currently, and on our radar...

Happy Friday! Once we've had our Canadian Thanksgiving, we're pretty much ready to 'coast' our way through the remainder of the year with ease and maximum deliciousness. Simple and flavourful dishes bring both to our during the week and weekend table, —more time and energy for all our other upcoming festivities. With a love for lemons, earlier in the year I wondered, "Does The Lemoniest Lemon Gelato exist?" I couldn't find any so decided to create my own with the loveliest market lemons. ... indoor/ outdoor, Yes indoor! fire pits. And just like that our temps plummeted from a cool 21°C to seriously chilly 8°C on our very first day of fall, last Thursday. With hurricanes heading this side of the globe, or things going rogue when we least expect it, my artsy home pick this month is this practical and lovely 5-Inch Mini Round Portable Indoor Outdoor Concrete Tabletop Fire Pit. I love the simple aesthetic and needed cozy warmth (using just Isopropyl alcohol), it brings to any space, especially indoors during this colder time of the year. Enjoy a clean burn (no smoke, no odor, and no mess) for a good 45 minutes at a time — with proper ventilation close by. Toasting marshmallows included!...
