As we wrapped up a summer workshop week, I wanted to throw out a fun question for a number of reasons. First, to get a feel for what we teachers treasure during our in-school days, second, for us to enjoy a laugh-out-loud moment to close, and third, to bring more internal awareness to all that we manage beyond planning and hands on instructional classroom time, giving additional value to those extra moments within our chosen and often selfless field. These were popular shares...

There are a ton of successful classrooms on all spectrums out there, and whenever I run into one I love asking both the classroom teacher and students alike (it's a group effort after all), what made their classroom and school year a hands down success. Last month, a few dedicated teachers shared their winning strategy. And as promised, this month we get to hear from our young children...

It's a forever constant... each group of young children has a way of making my day larger than life itself with some of the cutest and most down to earth honest responses on any given day of the week. It's no wonder I enjoy working for and with them. They are our everyday treasures. Last month during a school and classroom visit, I got the chance to ask a group of second graders,... "If you could give Mom anything in the whole wide world for Mother's Day next month, what would you give her?" And as you can see... they sure delivered above! ... anything in the world, what would you want to be? For the first time ever Pantone - The Color Authority around the globe has chosen two dreamy colors for 2016... Rose Quartz (a warm embracing rose) and Serenity (a tranquil blue) to celebrate the mood of the year as sensed from cultures around the world. With a new year upon us and already feeling the weightless gentleness within my own world with turning the page so to speak, I asked a group of young full-of-sparkle children to close their eyes and dream for a few...

// He Said, She Said: Things That Make You Say, "AHHHH!!!" ;)

Chances are, if you catch me heading uptown or downtown today between a meeting and a couple of official reference pick ups, most likely, I'll be smiling... We had so much fun putting this post together that it still makes me laugh out loud with remembering my kids' faces and gestures when they were once again, caught off guard, on a foggy afternoon, and asked... 

What makes you say, "Ahhhhh!!!"        ;)

 

 

P.S. Although Caleb hasn't found any monsters under his bed as yet, he's still very convinced they're there!
