... summer, that is-- and all the simple pleasures of it, which ironically, elevates everything about our warmer/ sizzling? days and evenings, with or without a movie or series catch-up. We all seem to be buried in these free-spirited days and months doing all our favourites which is indeed a very good thing. How has summer treated you this year? I hope well, and fine, and glorious, and kind. The days, they go so-so fast, with now just two weeks to go..., but who's counting? :), so it's a must that we make the most of them with at least one refreshing-include each and every week: music, barbequed eats, water playdates, and ice cream cones on our seas/lakes included... 'Love it! Have a lushful longer weekend wherever the days take you... More behind-the-scenes moments we can't get enough of, after the jump... ~xx

And this is where we call it another done school year, as we've experienced it... and where I get to take out my hidden Turkish Royal stash and have a puff or two, or three, with one of my project buddies, Isabelle, on the terrace, out in the warm sun, low humidity, no less. And hear her say, "Where'd you get that? I didn't know you smoked!" And then I'd reply, "I didn't know either. :) They're from Abu Dhabi." To which she'd laugh and respond, "Oh!", and then we'd have a good giggle, puffing away, while shooting the breeze and chatting about all things wild and present day and mysterious being the deep thinkers we truly are...

This much I know is true... Our anchoring mothers are our solids, especially in the midst of mayhem, grief, and shady characters. They are assertive and fight for the holistic health and happy balance of family, immediate and extended, without the what's-in-it-for-me and how soon can I get it mind-set we often see today. In a nutshell, they make the 'magic' happen, always looking ahead so we their children may flourish within a simply-lived life focused on good health, good values, and a solid foundation to meet our tomorrows. To my mom and all our deeply-rooted mothers and mothers-in-kind (our devoted sisters, aunts, Godmothers, teachers, and nannies...), have a blessed, loving, and relaxing Sunday. Happy Mother's Day! ~xx

... where I was once again on a ship cruising the Atlantic with my last Grade 3 group. All my kids were enjoying fries: some had just one fry in hand, some two, others a few, and one or two an entire bucket. It made me laugh, but it also made me feel really good inside to see them sharing their golden goods and having a grand time with each other in casual style while taking in the majestic blue... #life #love #heartful Happy Valentine's(!) afternoon and/ or evening wherever you are in the world.
