// The 4-Egg Scramble

Over our break, we enjoyed quite a bit of this guy (CTV's Drama Channel had a month long marathon from dawn 'til dusk), and had a good laugh. Sometimes I wanted to bend him over and let him have it with his outrageous shenanigans, and other times I wanted to hug him and say, "Aww pussycat, so. much. pressure." :) It happens. 2021 is already on its true path and there's nothing like a high-energy 5 year to indulge the wildchild 5 herself. For slower re-grouping moments there's easy breakfast, or brunch, or later lunch eggs... ~xx

// I am... (Thanksgiving Notes)

I am always so inspired, uplifted, and soothed with tuning in on our weekends for some abundant words and blessings especially during our current times. Last weekend was no different. While enjoying our Daily TV Mass (Sunday's here), and Joel Osteen's Who Do You Say You Are, there was so much encouragement to be good bountiful grapes and to hone in on the strengths in our lives to uplift others. May our dear Lord help us guide our children, keeping them on the right path so when they grow up they will not lose their way. We are living smaller, taking care of our children, our most precious 'cargo', and checking in with family and close friends near and far and dear on the regular. As we travel into our Thanksgiving next Monday, what a great question for thought and delivery... "Who do you say you are so we can tell others?"...

// Back to School (in this New Normal)

As we head into August, the buzz begins... Back to school and formal academic learning is on the minds of many, namely our parents, educators, and school administrators. After the unexpected pandemic realities of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), causing a severely harmful respiratory distress to all age groups, and being extremely contagious, closing our schools and workplaces back in March, things will be a lot different for the 2020 - 2021 school year. And, with moving forward through a new decade. Being nowhere near the halfway mark, and given the fact that a new vaccine takes time and careful steps, — and were it even ready, requires at least 5 years incubation to assess for possible dangers and long-term side effects, many parents are preparing for more at-home schooling with their younger children...

Good morning!, and here's to a new week with upcoming birthday holidays in the mix. I'm all for making that loosely sketched Summer Bucket List tailored close to home with all the goodness of nature to lighten our 'headspace' momentum. To be honest, we're so grateful this side that everyone is well and with no major health issues thus far, and moreso with being able to see and know firsthand on a day to day basis should anything start going haywire to alert each other and get things under control, as things do and will happen. Life 101. It's been an unprecedented six months for 2020 and one we never saw coming. How many times have we heard, or seen, or said that word: unprecedented??? It's the word for 2020 with work from home 24/7, school from home 24/7, and sheltering at home 24/7 for the most part where most of our younger children have not left home in any capacity since March...

// Five Fun Questions for Right Now

... because, life is a lot more than 'brainy' academics and it's healthy to branch away and indulge the playful every now and again. I recently ran across this article and loved the idea of bringing it into our elementary classrooms as well for some time-out, embracing the social breeze bonding for a few. On 5 individual index cards, and no set order, students select any five questions, and if desired substitute or include a fun one of their own making to share with their class buddy, who will then share one question and answer reveal with the larger group at the beginning or end of our school day. And in fairness, teachers are also expected to participate and share their answers too. My kids held me to this from that very first teaching year, finding us at my favourite beach spot hangout decades ago. I've never forgotten that eventful day. In short, have some close-knit, maybe even quirky, fun...
