Some ♫ playful music to serenade us into the looong weekend!
The things we do after dark... ;) Fingers crossed after two glasses of this* new delicious red last night and relaxing in some pink frosted bubbles. Happy weekend, happy Valentines and happy looong weekend Canada as we head into our Family Day on Monday, February 16th. Hope you had a lovely week-- this week was a lot of fun for many; I stepped away from my usual desk work for a day to indulge in making some one-of-a-kind Valentine candygrams! It was so exhilarating to see our kids creating their own heart-ful designs and friendship notes with so much enthusiasm. The best of relationships are filled with these sweet moments and little treats that keep the sparks and fires aglow in our most intimate and sacred unions, for decades. And our grown-up and loving wonderboys love and treasure them forever, as they too are as playful as ever. ;) Valentines is a loved favorite day! Here's one of my Love Candygrams I created earlier in the week...

For my special Valentine Candygram I wanted to incorporate the little things that we share in common: the love of nature in its simplest form (trees, lush leaves-- the greens, birds-- hence the feathers, his playful mustache that caught my attention and made me smile from day one, and favorite candies-- adding something new in the mix with Cadbury's Marvellous Creations chocolate with bits of jelly popping candy. Variety is the spice of life... For the colourful creative supplies, DeSerres was my one stop place which had everything I needed and then some... (flat white cards: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, pigment ink, leaf and heart stamps, gelly roll pens, gold embossing powder, feathers, mustache stickers, red ribbon, and a brown snack-sized paper bag for the candies).

It's all in your hands now to design as you desire. I wanted to keep it simple as we are very low-key people who enjoy the little things in life... which meant allowing for lots of white space on the panel card, with little touches of bold colour. I added a dust of the gold powder on the hearts for sparkle. After allowing the ink to dry for a couple of hours or the next day, I wrote my own personalized love message in gold ink on the reverse side, placed the candies and loose feathers in the brown paper bag, folded the top flap and punched two holes 2 1/2 inches apart through both the paper bag and panel card. I then strung the red ribbon through both items (from back to front), and created a bow as shown above.
I love this idea and being able to create a unique expression for loved ones beyond the usual in-store cards, any time of year.
Special thanks to DeSerres for creating these sweet moments!

Thanks everyone and have a special one. See you next Tuesday! xx
